The healthcare sector has not been left behind in this endeavor and many applications have been used in making the healthcare service provision better and modernized (Archibald & Barnard, 2018). In the video that was provided for analysis, there are many aspects that have utilized in the intensive care unit in the management of the patient and the actual running of the department and to an extension the whole facility. One of the amazing application is the use of the E-glass which is used in the separation of one patient and the other. The E-glass has enabled the healthcare provider to guarantee confidentiality and privacy of the patient. By a clinic of a button, the E-glass changes color and one cannot see through it. This is important, especially when carrying out procedures on the patient. A procedure like cleaning the patient and even changing the linen will ensure that the patient privacy is respected and observed. In addition, E-glass has promoted hygiene in the hospital and in the department (Hu, Ong, Zhu, Liu & Song, 2015). When the nurse or the healthcare provider wants to carry out a procedure and needs privacy, all they need is to touch a button and the glass changes color so that the next person in another room does not see what is going on hence privacy. The E-glass too promotes hygiene and cleanliness in the facility and in the department which prevents hospital-acquired infections which can be fatal especially in the intensive care unit.
